1) Social Media Agent (v/x/m) Are you a socially aware social media user who would like to contribute to the empowerment of your community? Then we’re looking for you!

What we're looking for: · You are preferably trilingual (NL, EN, FR) or at least fluent in two of the three and okay-ish in the third; · You are at home in the world of social media and know exactly how to communicate efficiently with a digital audience; · You have knowledge of the technological mechanisms behind social media platforms and are eager to master them; · You are a good writer with excellent grammar and spelling skills; · You are creative and have eye for detail; · You are a team-player but also a go-getter who knows how to draw their own plan; · You support and recognize yourself in Black Speaks Back’s philosophy and work, and are committed to stick with us for at least six months; · Knowledge of Photoshop or basic graphic design is a plus, not a must.


Job description: As a Social Media Agent you develop and execute a social media plan surrounding BsB content and are responsible for our social media platforms (Instagram and Facebook). You create appealing posts that are challenging, confrontational yet nuanced. You announce new content at least twice a week and engage with our followers throughout. You work in your own time and on your own pace and get to let your creativity go wild. Black Speaks Back is a non-profit organization with no structural funding, so all its team members work on a voluntary basis. We provide a humble monthly volunteer’s fee, lots of laughter and occasional dinners. Students of communication who would like to apply for an internship may contact us to discuss the possibilities of an adapted project aimed at obtaining their diploma.


Experience required: We require no professional experience. However, we expect our team members to be team players, flexible and engaged with our philosophy and work.

2) Creative Media Lover (m/v/x)


Are you down for the culture and great at editing, camera work, set design and/or sound engineering and would you like to contribute to the empowerment of your community? Then we’re looking for you!


What we're looking for: · You are preferably trilingual (NL, EN, FR) or at least fluent in two of the three and okay-ish in the third; · You are great at (or learning to become great at) work in an audiovisual media environment;

· You are eager to learn and develop new skills; · You are creative and have eye for detail; · You are a team-player but also a go-getter who knows how to draw their own plan; · You support and recognize yourself in Black Speaks Back’s philosophy and work, and are committed to stick with us for at least six months;


Job description:

We could use some extra hands at our video shoots and editing room. we are specifically looking for someone creative who has at least basic knowledge about working in a creative audiovisual media surrounding. You work in your own time and on your own pace and get to let your creativity go wild. Black Speaks Back is a non-profit organization with no structural funding, so all its team members work on a voluntary basis. We provide a humble monthly volunteer’s fee, lots of laughter and occasional dinners. We offer on the job experience and mentoring by experienced people in an open space where you are free to explore your own ideas. Students who would like to apply for an internship may contact us to discuss the possibilities of an adapted project aimed at obtaining their diploma.

3) Funding Expert (v/x/m)


Are you good with numbers, great at to-the-point writing, making up budgets and convincing people to hand over the euros? And would you like to contribute to the empowerment of your community? Then we’re looking for you!


What we're looking for: · You are fluent in Dutch and get away well enough with English and/or French;

· You are creative and a convincing writer; · You are great at finding money through either subsidies and/or other forms of funding;

· You have eye for detail;

· You have great networking skills; · You are independent and a go-getter who knows how to draw their own plan; · You support and recognize yourself in Black Speaks Back’s philosophy and work, and are committed to stick with us for at least six months;


Job description:

As our resident funding expert you help us find stable funding for a rapidly growing organization. You will work with experienced (but overworked...) people who have already used different kinds of funding in the past and have the necessary contacts for future funding sources. We do not require a lot of experience, but we are looking for someone with attention to detail, an affiliation to balancing or creating a budget and an independent attitude. Black Speaks Back is a non-profit organization with no structural funding, so all its team members work on a voluntary basis. We provide a humble monthly volunteer’s fee, lots of laughter and dinners. About the organization: Black Speaks Back is a grassroots platform focused on diverse and underrepresented narratives of Afro-descendants in Belgium and The Netherlands. Through a wide variety of videos and occasional events, Black Speaks Back aims to shed a positive light on the experiences, cultural heroes, and political happenings of the Afro-diaspora in the Low Countries. We facilitate connectivity, exchange, and collaborations between Afro-Dutch and Afro-Belgian intellectuals, artists, and activists, while entertaining, informing and empowering our communities.
